AWS STARR POSTER CONTEST

The Association of Women Surgeons is proud to present the 9th Annual Starr Poster Contest for Medical Students and Residents. The Starr Poster Contest, named for Dr. Nina Starr Braunwald, is designed to facilitate interaction and idea exchange between students interested in surgery, surgical residents, and faculty members of various institutions. We invite medical students and residents to select their best work for presentation at the AWS Fall Conference on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015.

Eligibility: The contest is open to medical students and residents who are members of the Association of Women Surgeons. (You may apply to become a member during the submission period, but your application must be complete with dues paid prior to the submission deadline to be eligible.) If your abstract is accepted, you must register for the AWS Fall Conference and present your work in person during the Sunrise Scientific Session at the conference. (Please note that this session does not conflict with the medical student or resident activities at the ACS Clinical Congress.)

Prizes: The top medical student and resident abstracts are selected to display and present their research posters at the AWS Conference during the Sunrise Scientific Session. Recognition and a monetary prize will be awarded for the top 3 medical student posters and top 3 resident posters. The top student and resident poster winner will also receive a complimentary ticket to the AWS Awards Dinner on Monday, October 5th, 2015.
